Why 90 Days Is the Right Horizon

Content marketing is a compounding investment. The results in month 1 are minimal. Month 2 is better. Month 3 is when things start clicking.

Most consultants quit in month 1 or 2 because they don't have a plan and they can't see the progress. The 90-day blueprint fixes both.

Month 1: Foundation

Goal: Build the infrastructure. Publish consistently enough to establish a baseline.

Week 1: Define your ICP (one specific person), your core positioning (one problem you solve better than anyone), and your content pillars (3–4 topic areas you'll own).

Week 2–4: Publish your first 8 pieces. Two LinkedIn posts per week, one long-form article per week. Don't try to go viral — try to be consistent.

Month 1 success metric: 8 pieces published, baseline analytics established, voice beginning to feel natural.

Month 2: Depth

Goal: Go deeper on the topics that got traction. Build your first lead magnet.

Week 5–6: Review Month 1 analytics. Which posts got the most engagement? Write two more pieces on those topics. Depth signals expertise.

Week 7: Build a simple lead magnet — a checklist, template, or short guide that solves a specific problem your ICP faces.

Week 8: Promote the lead magnet through your existing content. Add a CTA to your best Month 1 articles. Build an email welcome sequence (3 emails).

Month 2 success metric: 8 more pieces published, lead magnet live, first 10–20 subscribers.

Month 3: Distribution

Goal: Expand reach without expanding effort. Let existing content do more work.

Week 9–10: Cross-post your best articles to LinkedIn articles, Medium, or industry publications. Repurpose top posts into different formats.

Week 11–12: Reach out to 5–10 complementary consultants for guest posting or newsletter swap opportunities. Each collaboration exposes you to a new audience.

Month 3 success metric: First inbound inquiries from content. Subscriber list at 50+.

What Happens After 90 Days

The system is running. Now you iterate: double down on what's working, cut what's not, and increase volume by 20–30%.
